Video assistant referee technology can't come to Major League Soccer soon enough for FC Dallas.
As the league prepares for the implementation of video review on Aug. 5, there was a perfect example of why there's a need for another set of eyes during FC Dallas' match against the Montreal Impact on Saturday.
FC Dallas players were up in arms when a Montreal Impact player appeared to clear the ball while standing in his own goal. Initial replays seemed to show defender Daniel Lovitz standing well inside the net when he headed the ball away, but a different angle suggests he and the ball were closer to the line than first thought.
