Cheyrou puts @torontofc ahead on aggregate 6-5!! #TORvMTL https://t.co/udgi0ex8aW
Toronto FC looks as though it will be Canada's first team to play for the MLS Cup after Benoit Cheyrou and Tosaint Ricketts scored a pair of extra-time goals against the Montreal Impact in the second leg of the Eastern Conference final.
With the two sides stuck in a 4-4 aggregate deadlock, Cheyrou - who had just replaced the injured Sebastian Giovinco - sent the home supporters into a frenzy when his powerful header beat Impact 'keeper Evan Bush to give TFC a 6-5 lead on aggregate.
TFC padded the lead minutes later thanks to Jozy Altidore's stellar play down the wing to set up Ricketts, whose effort creeped across the line to make it 5-2 on the night, and 7-5 on aggregate.
