Denard Span, Joe Panik, and Buster Posey hit back-to-back-to-back homers in the eighth inning against the Milwaukee Brewers to lead a 12-3 San Francisco Giants rout in Monday's season opener for both clubs.
Barry Bonds, Ray Durham, and Pedro Feliz were the last Giants trio to accomplish the feat back in 2006.
The last trio to hit three consecutive homers on Opening Day was the 1997 San Diego Padres, a team also managed by Bruce Bochy.
Span, making his Giants debut, went 2-for-4 with five RBIs and two runs scored.
