In a case worthy of Ace Ventura, the Milwaukee Brewers confirmed Hank the Dog is alive and well.

The club held a press conference Friday to dispel the myth that Hank had died and was replaced with another dog.

"This is the real Hank and there's never been another," Brewers COO Rick Schlesinger said.

With the help of a veterinarian, the Brewers confirmed Hank's identity with his microchip and dental records, putting the conspiracy to rest.

Hank was adopted by the Brewers in February 2014 after he wandered into the team's spring training complex. He's served as the team's unofficial mascot since.

"Sales of Hank merchandise have generated hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Wisconsin Humane Society and other organizations that are helping strays and animals have great lives," Schlesinger said.
