Suspended for making insensitive comments through his Twitter account in late August, pitcher turned analyst Curt Schilling apparently believed his tenure with ESPN would end as a result.
Schilling posted, then quickly deleted, a tweet that likened Muslim extremists to Nazis. ESPN responded quickly by removing Schilling from his assignment and replacing him with Jessica Mendoza.
One week following his suspension, Schilling made a $250 donation to Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson. The publicly available report, obtained by Tom Kludt of CNN, indicates Schilling thought he might not be at ESPN for much longer.

Schilling would eventually be suspended for the remainder of the MLB season and was also taken off "Sunday Night Baseball." He will, however, work on "Monday Night Baseball" for the upcoming season.
