The Miami Marlins have reached an agreement with Don Mattingly to be their next manager, according to multiple reports.

The deal is reportedly for four years and a formal announcement is expected following the World Series.

Mattingly, who parted ways with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Oct. 22, interviewed for the position Monday. Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria quickly identified Mattingly as a front-runner for the job as soon as he became available.

The 54-year-old skipper will transition from managing a perennial World Series contender to an up-and-coming Marlins squad full of young talent. General manager Dan Jennings pulled double duty managing the club last year after Mike Redmond was fired.

Mattingly compiled a 446-363 record over five years in Los Angeles, and guided the Dodgers to three consecutive National League West titles.
