VIDEO: Kawasaki chokes on cigar during Blue Jays' celebration
There was a whole lot of confusion Friday night as to whether or not the Toronto Blue Jays clinched a postseason berth with their 5-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.
In fact, some players left Rogers Centre totally unaware they had just secured the franchise's first playoff appearance in more than two decades.
Less than 24 hours later, however, a second straight win over Tampa Bay eliminated any morsel of mathematical uncertainty. Not surprisingly, the mood was festive after Toronto's 10-8 victory, when the Blue Jays took a few moments to revel in a long-awaited return to the postseason.
For some, though - namely utility infielder (and fan favorite) Munenori Kawasaki - the celebratory postgame cigars were a bit intense.

It would probably behoove Kawasaki to work on his lung capacity in the next few days, though, as the Blue Jays could soon be celebrating a division title.
"It's definitely nice to know we're in the playoffs for sure," Russell Martin said after Friday's game, "but our goal is to win every game until it's over."
