Troy Tulowitzki's durability concerns have followed him to his new club.

Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos announced Sunday that his All-Star shortstop is expected to miss at least the next two-to-three weeks with a crack in his left shoulder blade suffered during a collision with teammate Kevin Pillar the day before.

"We'll know more in the next few days, but if I had to guess, and really it's only a guess at this point, (it) could be two-to-three weeks and then he could be back for October. Hopefully, we're playing at that time," Anthopoulos told reporters. "That's really all we have. We'll know more as the next few days come along."

Acquired from the Colorado Rockies in July, the five-time All-Star is hitting .232/.314/.368 with five home runs, six doubles, and 17 RBIs, in 39 games with Toronto.

"Not everyone heals the same way," Anthopoulos added. "It's a very small crack. There's a lot of bleeding internally that needs to subside at this point. I really think after the Atlanta series, we'll have more of a feel to see how well he is doing."

Tulowitzki said that it was Pillar's chin that made an impact with his shoulder causing injury, but he doesn't blame him for what happened. Like Anthopoulos, Tulowitzki has tempered expectations for setting a return date.

"Time will tell everything, you know," Tulowitzki said. "As we go on we'll know where we're at in the standings, we'll know how my body is feeling and we'll make a decision based on both of those things."

Tulowitzki has appeared in more than 130 games just three times in his 10-year career. He last surpassed the mark in 2011.

Ryan Goins, Cliff Pennington, Munenori Kawasaki, and the recently acquired Darwin Barney, are the club's internal options to replace Tulowitzki at shortstop.
