Glen Perkins has cemented his name in the team record books.
The Minnesota Twins closer broke the club record for consecutive saves with his 28th straight save Wednesday afternoon, surpassing Joe Nathan's record of 27 straight conversions from 2004.
Perkins retired the Baltimore Orioles in order to secure a 5-3 victory and lower his ERA to a sparkling 1.24. He also moved into a tie for third in club history with Eddie Guardado with his 116th all-time save.
The left-hander has a long way to go, however, in order to chase down Eric Gagne's MLB record of converting 84 straight saves.
