Giants closer Casilla to rest for a few days
Kelley L Cox / USA TODAY Sports
San Francisco Giants closer Santiago Casilla will not be used for a few days according to manager Bruce Bochy, Andrew Baggarly of CSN Bay Area reports.
Analysis:
Casilla gave up three runs without recording an out Wednesday, blowing his first save (and allowing his first runs) since May 31. According to Bochy, his stuff wasn't the same due to general arm fatigue, so the team determined the best course of action will be to rest the closer for an unspecified period of time. With Casilla unavailable, look for Sergio Romo and Javier Lopez to close games based on matchups.
