Indians place Carlos Santana on paternity list, Scott Atchison to 15-day DL

The Cleveland Indians made a flurry of roster moves ahead of Thursday's contest against the Seattle Mariners.

First baseman Carlos Santana has been added to the paternity list following the birth of his daughter, and reliever Scott Atchison has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left ankle sprain.

Santana could miss up to three games.

The team has called up outfielder/first baseman Jerry Sands, and righty Austin Adams from Triple-A Columbus to fill the void.
