Colorado Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau remains at least a few days away from being activated from the disabled list due to lingering effects from a concussion, manager Walt Weiss said Thursday.
Morneau was placed on the seven-day concussion list May 16 after suffering a strained neck and experiencing dizziness following a diving defensive play last week.
"It’s probably not just (seven-days)," Weiss told reporters prior to Thursday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. "I'm not going to say it's going to be a whole lot longer than that, but he's not going to be in the lineup in two days."
The Rockies have said they'll exercise caution with Morneau, whose career was derailed in Minnesota because of numerous concussions. He's hitting .290/.317/.450 with three homers in 27 games this season.
