The five-time All-Star entered Monday's game hitting .237/.275/.237 with eight strikeouts and two RBIs through his first 11 games. For a player who has built a career on driving the ball, what's more concerning about Braun's struggles is the fact that each of his nine hits have been singles.
Braun, however, got off the snide in the Brewers 6-1 loss to the Cincinnati Reds with a ninth-inning home run for his first extra-base hit of the season.
The blast moved Braun into second place on the Brewers all-time home run list with 231 for his career, passing former teammate Prince Fielder. He sits 30 behind Robin Yount for the franchise record.
