Jackie Robinson will never be forgotten.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will immortalize the man who broke the color barrier in baseball with a permanent statue at Dodger Stadium, the first ever on the grounds.
The announcement was made at a press conference prior to Wednesday night's Civil Rights Game between the Seattle Mariners and Dodgers.
Robinson's statue will be the first in a series at Dodgers Stadium, much to the delight of Robinson's widow, Rachel Robinson.
"I've been waiting 20 years for this," she said at the press conference. "It's the fulfillment of a dream."
