Despite serving as one of the Cincinnati Reds' most reliable relievers over the last four years, right-hander Sam LeCure won't be with the team when the regular season begins next week.

Reds manager Bryan Price announced Thursday that LeCure, who's logged 216 relief appearances for Cincinnati since 2011, will be outrighted from the 40-man roster to Triple-A Louisville.

LeCure, though, enjoyed a solid spring in which he fashioned a 3.53 ERA across seven Cactus League appearances, notching 12 strikeouts over 8 1/3 innings.

His peripheral statistics regressed considerably last season, however, as he managed his worst strikeout rate since his 2010 debut while allowing 0.95 home runs per nine innings, a dramatic increase from the season prior. Over 62 appearances in 2014, LeCure managed a 3.81 ERA (103 ERA-) with a 1.52 WHIP while struggling in high-leverage situations.
