Oscar Taveras will be with the St. Louis Cardinals every time they take the field this summer.

As a gesture of remembrance for Taveras, who died along with his 18-year-old girlfriend in a car accident in October, the Cardinals will sport a commemorative patch bearing the deceased outfielder's initials on their uniforms throughout the 2015 campaign.

Known affectionately in his native Dominican Republic as "El Fenomeno", Taveras made his MLB debut with the Cardinals in 2014, hitting .239/.278/.312 with three home runs across 80 games. Though he struggled in his inaugural campaign, Taveras boasted offensive potential that was virtually unrivaled among prospects.
