Hunter Pence: (Forearm) Fracture Confirmed
Pence (forearm) has been diagnosed with a non-displaced fracture of the left ulna and is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis:
X-rays confirmed the Giants' fears; Pence did indeed suffer a fractured forearm as a result of being hit by a pitch during Thursday's Cactus League game. He will be fitted with a cast, and while it sounds like he could still make it back before the end of April, everything will depend on how quickly he progresses in the weeks ahead. Gregor Blanco and Juan C. Perez are the top in-house candidates to replace Pence in right, though the team could also go outside the organization to find a fill-in.
