Report: Twins GM considering Renteria for managerial interview

The Chicago Cubs' loss could be the Minnesota Twins' gain.
Following Chicago's firing of manager Rick Renteria on Friday, Twins general manager Terry Ryan is now considering bringing Renteria in for an interview for their managerial vacancy, according to Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY.
The Twins have been hesitant to make a decision despite interviewing candidates Paul Molitor, Doug Mientkiewicz and Torey Lovullo on multiple occasions.
Renteria, whose firing is expected to precede the hiring of Joe Maddon by the Cubs, was praised by Cubs president Theo Epstein upon his firing for his work, but drew the unfortunate end of the stick once the two-time AL Manager of the Year became available.
