Game 7 of the World Series at Kauffman Stadium may have marked the end of Billy Butler's tenure with the Kansas City Royals.

The Royals are expected to decline Butler's $12.5-million club option for 2015, according to Jon Heyman of CBS. Kansas City will owe Butler a $1 million buyout if the organization elects to go that route.

Butler has spent his entire eight-year career with the Royals, hitting .295/.359/.449 with one All-Star berth and a pair of 20-plus home run seasons.

The designated hitter got his first taste of the postseason during Kansas City's improbable playoff run, where he hit .262 with eight RBIs.
