The Washington Nationals aren't expected to be without one of their most impactful players heading into the playoffs, as outfielder Denard Span's departure from Tuesday's game was simply a precaution:
Span was removed in the third inning after making a tremendous catch on the warning track that resulted in the injury.
Entering Tuesday, the 30-year-old is hitting .298/.352/.413 with 38 doubles, 37 RBI and 31 stolen bases in 143 games.
