Despite leaving Friday's 5-3 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays due to a right hamstring strain, New York Yankees center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury hopes to return to the field before the regular season ends next week, reports MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.

Ellsbury was sent for an MRI after leaving Friday's game in the fourth inning, and manager Joe Girardi said afterwards there's a "distinct possibility" the 30-year-old will miss the remainder of the season.
