Blue Jays' Rasmus benched for punctuality issues
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Colby Rasmus was a late scratch prior to Thursday's clash with the Houston Astros and he revealed why after the game.
Rasmus: "I was late getting here to the field. Wasn't here when I was supposed to be and they punished me as they should have." #BlueJays

Rasmus: "Just got caught up eating lunch with the family, got caught up in a little traffic and didn't make it on time. It is what it is."

The Blue Jays said the scratch was due to an "internal decision" and Rasmus' absence from the lineup didn't hurt the team, which came away with a 6-5 victory to extend its winning streak to six games.
Manager John Gibbons, however, had a different take on why he decided to pine Rasmus.
John Gibbons on why Rasmus sat: "Late in the day I had a hunch that Reimold would have a big day. ... It's called good managing instincts."

Nolan Reimold went deep twice - including a go-ahead solo shot in the ninth inning.
