Omar Infante hit a two-run double in the top of the 10th inning to help the Kansas City Royals end the Toronto Blue Jays' nine-game winning streak and win 8-6 at Rogers Centre in their series opener Thursday night.

The Blue Jays were an out away from winning their 10th straight game when shortstop Jose Reyes’ throwing error to first base in the bottom of the ninth allowed Jarrod Dyson to cross the plate and score the tying run.

Edwin Encarnacion was one of the bright spots for the Blue Jays as he hit two home runs in the fourth and sixth innings to bring his total in the month of May to 16. The first home run broke Jose Bautista’s franchise record for home runs in a month, while the second matched New York Yankees legend Mickey Mantle's American League record for May home runs.

Encarnacion did, however, match another record with his fifth multi-home run game of the month, tying Harmon Killebrew (May 1959) and Albert Belle (Sept. 1995) for the MLB record.

Starter R.A. Dickey struggled on the night, allowing five earned runs on 10 hits while striking out seven and giving up one walk, but it was Todd Redmond who picked up the loss.
