White Sox' Eaton 'leaning towards' trip to DL with right hamstring injury

Adam Eaton continues to be slowed by a hamstring injury that is most likely leading the White Sox outfielder to the disabled list.

"Just with both legs, and legs are the game that I play, so I'm not 100 percent sure, but that's what I'd say we're leaning towards," Eaton told Scott Merkin of MLB.com when asked about heading to the DL. "We want to get everything right, and I'm not doing any good when I'm [playing] at 80 percent. I'm not sure what [White Sox head athletic trainer] Herm [Schneider] wants to do, but we'll see.

"It kind of started off [with] some small little irritation, and then it kind of felt a little more. You don't take anything serious in this game, especially with your body. You try to play through stuff, but that's what we were trying to do, and it kind of bit us in the butt. I don't know what other precautions we're going to take, DL or whatever. I'm not sure what's going to happen because I've got to talk to him, and I'll know more after."

Eaton dealt with a left hamstring injury that cost him five games in April but avoided the DL, but after leaving Friday's game with a right hamstring strain, it wouldn't be a surprise if the White Sox err on the side of caution with their oft-injured center fielder.
