Where were you when the Seattle Mariners signed free-agent catcher John Buck?
#mariners agree to deal with john buck. he gets $1M. @jonmorosi said MLB deal was close.

Buck will likely serve as the back-up catcher to Mike Zunino, who's projected to be worth two wins in 2014, according to FanGraphs.
Also worth mentioning that per StatCorner, John Buck was baseball’s very worst framer last year: http://t.co/7s6RrErfm1

It's true, damn it. But where's Cameron's veteran presence leaderboards? Where is it?!
Buck is what he is. An above-average defensive catcher who'll strike out far too often, and hit a few home runs. As a back-up, he's a projected improvement over Seattle's Jesus Sucre, and for a Mariners team trying their hardest to contend, this can't be considered a terrible deal.
