Cincinnati's JC French: Named starter

French has been named the starting quarterback for Cincinnati, per Pete Nakos of On3.com.

The Georgia Southern transfer will be under center to open Cincinnati's season. Over the last two seasons at Georgia Southern, the quarterback started 26 games, throwing for 5,760 yards and 45 total touchdowns. The Bearcats will open their season Sept. 5 against Boston College.
