World Series odds: Where all 30 teams stand as spring training begins

It doesn't feel like it was so long ago that the Dodgers defeated the Blue Jays in extra innings of Game 7 to earn back-to-back World Series titles.

But spring training games begin Friday and it's time to turn the page to a new season, giving every team a blank slate.

While all 30 teams theoretically have an opportunity to win the World Series, the Dodgers have by far the best chance, according to the betting odds. Los Angeles is a whopping +225 preseason favorite (30.8% implied probability) on theScore Bet to complete the three-peat.

The favorites

Team Odds

The Dodgers added highly coveted free agent Kyle Tucker to an already loaded roster. Tucker slides into a lineup that includes Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman. Combined with one of the most lethal rotations in the bigs, it's obvious why the Dodgers are such big favorites before a single pitch has been thrown.

Last year, the Dodgers were +275 preseason favorites - the shortest odds for a team entering the season since 2003.

The Yankees are the second favorites and the top American League team on the oddsboard. The Yankees' lineup remains largely unchanged from last year, as they brought back unrestricted free agents Cody Bellinger, Paul Goldschmidt, and Trent Grisham. Gerrit Cole should return to the rotation before the All-Star break after missing all of last season recovering from Tommy John surgery.

The Mets, Phillies, Mariners, and Blue Jays are all +1400, rounding out the top six clubs on the oddsboard. After failing to land Tucker, the Mets made a flurry of moves, including signing Bo Bichette and trading for Luis Robert Jr. and Freddy Peralta. However, they did lose Pete Alonso to the Orioles.

The Blue Jays didn't win the Tucker sweepstakes, but that shouldn't overshadow their impressive offseason. They added Dylan Cease to what could be the best rotation in the AL and signed Kazuma Okamoto, one of the most sought-after talents making the move from Japan to North America.

The contenders

Team Odds
Braves +1500
Red Sox +1600
Astros +1600
Cubs +1800
Brewers +1800
Padres +1800
Orioles +2000
Tigers +2000
Rangers +2500

There are 14 clubs with odds of +2000 or shorter, meaning there's very little separating the top teams that aren't the Dodgers.

The Braves were the second favorites before last season at +800 but had a forgettable campaign, finishing fourth in the NL East with 76 wins. Atlanta was among the teams most affected by injuries last season, behind the Astros, Orioles, Dodgers, and Red Sox, according to FanGraphs' Dan Szymborski.

Long shots

Team Odds
Reds +4000
Royals +4000
Diamondbacks +5000
Guardians +5000
Twins +5000
Giants +5000
Rays +5000
Pirates +7500
Athletics +10000
Marlins +15000
White Sox +20000
Angels +20000
Cardinals +20000
Nationals +20000
Rockies +50000

Toronto was +6000 to win the World Series at this point last year, so it's not as though these long shots don't have a chance. The Reds and Guardians made the postseason in 2025 but are priced well above teams in the contender tier. The Diamondbacks are only two years removed from losing the World Series to the Rangers, while the Giants and Rays have long histories of overachieving.
