The Chicago Cubs and reliever Caleb Thielbar agreed to a one-year contract, a source told Jesse Rogers of ESPN.
Financial details of the pact haven't been reported.
Thielbar, 38, posted a 2.64 ERA and 3.00 FIP for the Cubs last year in his first season with the franchise.
The left-hander is a veteran of nine seasons, eight of which came with the Minnesota Twins. Thielbar has authored a 3.26 ERA and 3.30 FIP over 378 career innings. From 2021-24, he owned an impressive 29% strikeout rate. He saw a marked decline in whiffs this past year but still owned a 4.33-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio thanks to limiting free passes.
Thielbar joins newcomer Hoby Milner as well as Luke Little as southpaw options in the Cubs' bullpen.
