Phillies to induct former MVP Rollins into Wall of Fame
The Philadelphia Phillies announced Thursday that they'll induct iconic shortstop Jimmy Rollins into the team's Wall of Fame on Aug. 1.
Rollins played 15 seasons in Philadelphia from 2000-14. He produced his best campaign in 2007, recording a career-high .875 OPS (119 OPS+) with 20 triples to win the National League's MVP.
The switch-hitter won a World Series title, four Gold Gloves, and a Silver Slugger award and made three All-Star appearances with the Phillies.
The 49.0 fWAR Rollins accrued during his lengthy tenure in Philadelphia is the sixth-most in franchise history for a position player and second only to former teammate Chase Utley this century.
Rollins played his last MLB game in 2016 with the Chicago White Sox but officially retired as a member of the Phillies on May 4, 2019.
