New York Mets owner Steve Cohen is feeling very good about his investment in star shortstop Francisco Lindor after his heroics in Game 4 of the NLDS against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Lindor belted a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth, helping the Mets punch their ticket to the NLCS for the first time since 2015.
"That ($) 341 (million) is looking pretty freakin' good right now," Cohen told Mike Puma of the New York Post.
The Mets signed Lindor to a 10-year, $341-million contract extension ahead of the 2021 campaign after acquiring him in a blockbuster trade with the Cleveland Guardians.
Lindor had his best season with the Mets in 2024, racking up 7.8 fWAR with 33 home runs, 107 runs scored, 91 RBIs, and 29 stolen bases in 152 games.
The Mets have enjoyed postseason success for the first time since Cohen took control of the club in 2020.
"I’ve been waiting for this for years," Cohen said, per SNY's Phillip Martinez. "I wanted this place packed. I want to slay the negative Met fan perception, and we're on our way to doing that. Let's keep it going."
The Mets will take on the winner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres in the NLCS beginning Sunday night.
