The Miami Marlins designated outfielder Nick Gordon for assignment, the club announced Monday.
Miami acquired Gordon from the Minnesota Twins for reliever Steven Okert in February.
Gordon is earning $900,000 in his first year of arbitration eligibility. The 28-year-old slashed .227/.258/.369 with eight home runs, 32 RBIs, and five stolen bases across 95 games this season.
Gordon is a career .244 hitter with 23 home runs and 112 RBIs in parts of four MLB seasons. He was the fifth overall pick by the Twins in the 2014 draft.
