The New York Yankees may be eyeing another big move.
Even after acquiring Jazz Chisholm Jr. in a blockbuster deal on Saturday, the club reportedly remains interested in Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Yandy Díaz, a source told The Athletic's Brendan Kuty.
Díaz has hit .270/.326/.397 across 97 games for the Rays after leading the AL with a .330 batting average last season.
The 32-year-old is under contract through 2025.
The Yankees have been searching for answers at first base since Anthony Rizzo fractured his arm in June. Rookie Ben Rice has slashed .196/.291/.421 while getting the bulk of the playing time in his absence.
New York wouldn't consider Spencer Jones, its second-ranked prospect by Baseball America, as untouchable in trade talks, Kuty added.
The MLB trade deadline is Tuesday at 6 p.m. ET.
