The Seattle Mariners traded reliever Mike Baumann to the San Francisco Giants for cash considerations, the team announced Sunday.
Seattle acquired Baumann from the Orioles in May with hopes of bolstering the bullpen. However, the right-hander struggled to a 5.51 ERA over 16 1/3 innings with the club.
The 28-year-old owns a 4.57 ERA and 1.42 WHIP across four MLB seasons.
The Giants' bullpen is in need of reinforcements, having entered Sunday ranked bottom 10 in baseball in both ERA and WAR.
