Alvarez accomplished the feat in four at-bats. He singled in his first trip to the plate, homered in his second, and then legged out a triple after Mariners center fielder Julio Rodríguez crashed into the wall.
The slugger is the first Astros player to hit for the cycle since teammate Jose Altuve on Aug. 28, 2023, against the Boston Red Sox. He joins Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford as the second player to do it this year.
Alvarez, recently named to his third consecutive All-Star Game, raised his slash line to .301/.385/.545 with the four-hit performance.
The Mariners overcame his heroics and won the game 6-4.
