Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon expects to remain with the team beyond the July 30 trade deadline after a conversation with general manager Bill Schmidt.
"We had a good talk, talked about it, and we came to the conclusion that I’m going to stay a Rockie," McMahon said Monday, according to Mark W. Sanchez of the New York Post.
McMahon inked a six-year, $70-million contract extension in March 2022. He's under club control until the end of the 2028 campaign.
The 29-year-old earned his first All-Star berth amidst the best season of his career: McMahon is slashing .272/.350/.447 with 14 home runs, 48 runs scored and 45 RBIs across 95 games in 2024.
McMahon has also graded out well defensively at third base, ranking in the 86th percentile in outs above average after finishing in the 93rd percentile last season.
