The Los Angeles Dodgers lost Wednesday's game against the Texas Rangers after rookie Andy Pages ran through his third base coach's stop sign, making the final out at home plate.

Pages said postgame that he expects to use the play as a lesson to improve.
"From the first moment, I knew I would get to third. But as soon as I saw the center fielder misplay it a little bit, I just thought about scoring that tying run," Pages said through a translator, per MLB.com's Juan Toribio. "You learn from those things. Unfortunately, those things have to happen for you to get better."
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts acknowledged Pages' mistake but credited the Rangers for making a strong play.
"It's one of those things; you have a young player who doesn't have a lot of experience, and you run him out there, and that's how they learn," Roberts said. "But it still took a perfect throw and an executed relay, and they made a great play."
Pages has taken over as the Dodgers' primary center fielder after the club demoted 2023 NL Rookie of the Year finalist James Outman to Triple-A. The 23-year-old is slashing .265/.317/.409 with six home runs, 29 runs scored, and 19 RBIs across 49 games this season. Pages has graded out as a decent baserunner in his rookie campaign, ranking in the 63rd percentile in Baseball Savant's baserunning run value.
The Dodgers will look to take the rubber game of their series with the Rangers when the two clubs conclude the three-game set Thursday night.
