The Los Angeles Angels optioned struggling left-hander Reid Detmers to Triple-A Salt Lake, the club announced Saturday.
The move comes on the heels of another tough outing for Detmers, who allowed five runs on four hits and walked four in Saturday's 9-0 loss to the Seattle Mariners. The 24-year-old's night ended after Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford took him deep for a grand slam in the fourth inning.

"It f-----g sucks. There's no other way to put it," Detmers said, according to Jeff Fletcher of SoCal News Group. "It sucks. I just gotta do better."
Detmers' ERA has risen to 6.14 after registering a 1.19 ERA through his first four starts of the season.
The Angels drafted Detmers in the first round in 2020. He accumulated 4.7 fWAR across the past two campaigns and threw a no hitter in 2022.
