New York Mets reliever Yohan Ramírez has been suspended three games for throwing near the head of Milwaukee Brewers slugger Rhys Hoskins during Saturday's game at Citi Field, the league announced.
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza was also given a one-game ban.

Ramírez is appealing the suspension and will be available Sunday. Mendoza, meanwhile, will serve his ban immediately. Bench coach John Gibbons will be in charge of the lineup card for Sunday's series finale against the Brewers.
The spat began during Friday's Opening Day contest, with Hoskins making contact with Jeff McNeil on a slide into second base, prompting a short benches-clearing incident. Hoskins was ruled out on the force play but wasn't found to have broken the slide rule.
Hoskins then went on to have a 3-for-3 day at the plate on Saturday before getting thrown at by Ramírez. He finished the game with four RBIs, a homer, and a walk.
