Zaidi: Giants to give young pitchers opportunity in rotation
The San Francisco Giants appear ready to enter the season with their current group of starting pitchers.
Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi said Sunday that the team plans to give some of its younger arms opportunities to solidify the pitching staff.
"We have talked all offseason and been very consistent that our plan was to continue to graduate some of our young pitchers we're really high on, particularly in the rotation," Zaidi said, according to NBC Sports' Alex Pavlovic.
Zaidi added: "The plan all along has been to give our young pitchers opportunities."
The Giants are among the teams reportedly connected to free-agent left-hander Blake Snell, the reigning NL Cy Young winner.
San Francisco is projected to enter the season with a rotation featuring Logan Webb, Kyle Harrison, Jordan Hicks, Keaton Winn, and Sean Hjelle.
