The Texas Rangers and All-Star outfielder Adolis García agreed to a two-year contract to avoid arbitration, the club announced Thursday.
The agreement will guarantee García $14 million with the ability to make $20.25 million through escalators, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
In García deal, he'll make $4.75M in 2024, base of $9.25M in 2025. Escalators in deal are largely based on placing in MVP voting & PAs. If he repeats his finish in MVP voting (14th in 2023), think his 2025 deal escalates to over $10M. Gives him security & upside.

The two sides were scheduled to go to an arbitration hearing on Thursday. García had filed asking for $6.9 million in 2024, while the Rangers countered at $5 million.
The 30-year-old isn't scheduled to hit free agency until the conclusion of the 2026 campaign.
García has blossomed into one of the American League's best sluggers over the past few seasons. He helped the Rangers to a World Series title in 2023, winning ALCS MVP along the way.
García posted an .836 OPS with 39 home runs, 108 runs scored, and 107 RBIs across 148 games for the Rangers last season.
