Rays bring back Devenski on 1-year deal reportedly worth $1M

The Tampa Bay Rays and right-hander Chris Devenski agreed to a one-year contract with a club option for the 2025 campaign, the club announced Tuesday.

Devenski will earn $1 million next season, while the option for 2025 is worth $2 million with a $100,000 buyout, reports Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

Devenski made nine appearances for the Rays last season, posting a 2.08 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, and 9.3 K/9.

The 33-year-old started the season with the Los Angeles Angels, registering a 5.08 ERA in 29 appearances before he was designated for assignment in August.

Devenski owns a career 25-21 record with a 3.78 ERA and 391 strikeouts across 373 1/3 innings.
