Grass is green, the sky is blue, and Madison Bumgarner is angry again.

During Wednesday's game at Busch Stadium, the Arizona Diamondbacks left-hander yelled at St. Louis Cardinals catcher Willson Contreras from the mound after he fouled off a pitch in the third inning. Bumgarner seemingly yelled, "Shut the fuck up, you p----" at the opposing batter.

Contreras got the last laugh, though, eventually earning a walk and flipping his bat. Bumgarner seemed to exchange words with Contreras again as he moseyed to first base.

"I don't know, I think he didn't like the way I swung at the fastball," Contreras said postgame when asked about what happened. "I never looked back at him or anything like that. ... When I turned around, I thought he was saying something to me. So, if he's getting mad about that, what can I say?"

"For me, it's like a mind game," the catcher continued. "Thankfully, I got in his mind and he blew out in that inning."

It was another rough outing for Bumgarner, who now has a 10.26 ERA over 16 2/3 innings this season. The veteran southpaw allowed seven runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out a pair over three innings of work Wednesday.
