The Cincinnati Reds announced Friday they signed utility man Wil Myers to a one-year contract with a mutual option for the 2024 campaign.
The agreement will pay Myers $7.5 million next season, which could increase to $9.5 million based on playing time or if he's traded, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.
The Reds also signed catcher Curt Casali to a one-year contract and designated veteran infielder Mike Moustakas for assignment.
Moustakas, 34, struggled over the past two seasons, hitting just 13 home runs with 47 RBIs over 140 games.
Casali returns to the Reds after spending parts of three seasons with the franchise from 2018-20. The 34-year-old split 2022 between the Seattle Mariners and San Francisco Giants, registering a .649 OPS in 57 appearances.
Casali has a one-year, $3.25 million deal with the Reds. Will earn $2.5M in 2023, with $750K on the buyout of the mutual option for ‘24. Gets $250K assignment bonus if traded.

Myers spent the last eight campaigns with the San Diego Padres. The 32-year-old slashed .261/.315/.398 with seven home runs and 41 RBIs across 77 games last season.
Myers' ability to play multiple positions should be valuable to Cincinnati. The veteran appeared at every outfield position and first base for the Padres in 2022.
Reds first baseman Joey Votto is uncertain for Opening Day after undergoing shoulder surgery last summer.
Myers is a lifetime .254/.329/.442 with 153 home runs, 521 RBIs, and 105 stolen bases over 1,063 career games. He won the 2013 American League Rookie of the Year as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays.
