The Cleveland Guardians and first baseman Josh Bell are in agreement on a two-year, $33-million contract, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman.
The pact also includes an opt-out, a source told The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.
Bell, 30, spent the 2022 campaign with the Washington Nationals and San Diego Padres. The switch-hitting slugger registered a .784 OPS with 17 home runs and 71 RBIs across 156 games.
Bell joins a Guardians team that finished 29th in MLB in home runs last season with just 127.
The one-time All-Star spent the first five seasons of his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Bell's best season came in 2019 when he belted 37 home runs with 116 RBIs and a .936 OPS in 143 games for the Pirates.
