Yankees sign GM Cashman to 4-year contract through 2026

The New York Yankees signed senior vice president and general manager Brian Cashman to a four-year contract, tying him to the franchise through the 2026 season, the club announced Monday.

Cashman has been the Yankees' general manager since 1998 and has been at the helm for four World Series championships.

The 55-year-old has been with the organization since 1986. He also had a stint as New York's assistant general manager from 1992-98.

The Yankees have only missed the postseason four times during Cashman's tenure as general manager. However, the club hasn't won a World Series title since 2009.

With his contractual status resolved, Cashman's biggest priority this offseason is the future of reigning American League MVP Aaron Judge.

The Yankees reportedly have an eight-year offer on the table to Judge for approximately $300 million. The San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers are also rumored to be pursuing Judge.
