Fresh off a stirring run to Game 6 of the World Series, the Philadelphia Phillies are aggressively seeking improvements to their team ahead of the 2023 season.

The Phillies are seen as favorites to sign All-Star shortstop Trea Turner to a contract this offseason, according to MLB Network's Jon Morosi.

Turner, 29, is no stranger to the National League East, having spent parts of the first seven seasons of his career as a member of the Washington Nationals.

The two-time All-Star authored another tremendous season for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2022. Turner slashed .298/.343/.466 with 21 home runs, 101 runs scored, 100 RBIs, and 27 stolen bases across 160 games.

He'll likely command a contract worth at least $30 million per season, Morosi reports.

Bryson Stott is projected to play shortstop for the Phillies next season, but he could shift to second base with free agent Jean Segura unlikely to return to the club in 2023.
