The Seattle Mariners traded 2020 American League Rookie of the Year Kyle Lewis to the Arizona Diamondbacks for outfielder/catcher Cooper Hummel, the teams announced Thursday.

Lewis hit 11 home runs and posted an .801 OPS to win the award during the pandemic-shortened season. He's struggled to stay healthy since, however, missing time due to a knee injury and concussion issues. He's appeared in 54 games over the last two seasons, hitting .215/301/.366 with eight home runs.

The 27-year-old has experience playing all three outfield spots and is arbitration-eligible for the first time this winter. He's projected to earn $1.4 million.

Hummel made his MLB debut last season, hitting .176/.274/.307 with three home runs and four stolen bases across 66 games. The 27-year-old appeared in 23 games in the corner outfield while also playing 118 1/3 innings behind the plate.
