Game 3 postponed by rain, World Series will resume Tuesday
Game 3 of the World Series on Monday between the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros was postponed due to inclement weather, the league announced.
The rained-out contest, which was set to be held at Citizens Bank Park, forced Major League Baseball to shift the remaining games by one day. Game 3 will be held Tuesday.

Monday's contest would have been the first game of this year's World Series to be held in Philadelphia after the first two games were played at Houston's Minute Maid Park.
Phillies right-hander Noah Syndergaard and Astros righty Lance McCullers Jr. were scheduled to start with the series tied 1-1.
Now, southpaw Ranger Suarez, who was set to start Game 4, will get Game 3, Philadelphia skipper Rob Thomson told reporters, including Jim Salisbury of NBC. The Phillies will then go with Aaron Nola in Game 4, either Kyle Gibson or Syndergaard in Game 5, and Zack Wheeler on an extra day of rest for Game 6, if necessary.
Meanwhile, the Astros will stick with McCullers for Game 3 and will probably turn to Cristian Javier for Game 4, manager Dusty Baker said, according to Jayson Stark of The Athletic.
The latest date a World Series game has been played on is Nov. 4, which happened in 2001 and 2009. If this series goes to Game 6, it will set a new record.
This is also the most recent in a string of World Series Game 3s affected by rain for Philly. The Game 3s held in Philadelphia during the 1993, 2008, and 2009 World Series were all delayed by rain but not postponed.
