Colorado Rockies outfielder Kris Bryant is headed to the 10-day injured list with a lower back strain after being reinstated Saturday from the same injury, the team announced Wednesday.
Bryant appeared in two games after returning, going 1-for-6 with two walks and three strikeouts before getting scratched on Monday and Tuesday.
The former MVP and four-time All-Star has struggled in his first season in Colorado, hitting .270/.342/.333 with no homers or stolen bases through 17 games. The 30-year-old signed a seven-year, $182-million contract in March.
In a corresponding move, the Rockies recalled right-handed pitcher Ryan Feltner from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Feltner made one start with the big-league roster earlier this year, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks over five innings while striking out seven against the Philadelphia Phillies. The 25-year-old made his MLB debut in 2021, authoring an 11.37 ERA over two starts.
