New York Yankees reliever Chad Green will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery, manager Aaron Boone said Sunday, according to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.
Green, 30, made 14 appearances for the Yankees this season, posting a 1-1 record with a 3.00 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 15 innings pitched.
The hurler has emerged as one of the most consistent relief options in the American League and owns a career 3.17 ERA in 272 appearances across seven seasons.
